    Hello all,
I have put this question on quite a few places as well as ASUS forums. I tried searching the topic here but could not find a satisfying resolution. So here goes.

I have a ASUS G51VX with a nVidia GeForce 260m GT video card. I upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 Home Premium a few months ago. Before the upgrade, I could connect the laptop to my TV (Samsung) and switch to the HDMI output without any issues, video nor audio. That was on Vista.
After the upgrade, my TV cannot recognize that I have connected the laptop via HDMI. The option does not show up on my TV to select this HDMI port. I have the latest drivers (according to nVidia's analysis). I have tried many things to get the things to work but no avail. Because it worked on Vista, I am hoping it works on W7 too.

If anyone has resolved this issue, or anyone has any suggestions, I would be very grateful. Thanks.

OK. I finally have the thing resolved. After reading a few more threads here, I decided to experiment with driver versions. After a great deal of experimenting, I installed 195.55, which many assured was the one working for them. I installed the one from nVidia website. It still did not work. Then I tried to use a different HDMI cable as many suggested and the screen sprung into action. So there you go.
