    Hi Guys,

I've just picked up a UL30v laptop. It's a nice piece of kit, but i'm having a problem connecting it to my TV.

When i first connected it via HDMI everything worked without a problem, but when i disconnected it the problem started. When i disconnected it the film was still playing on the computer without sound. I go into the sound settings an change over to the computer speakers, problem solved! or so i thought. Now when i try to connect it back to the tv, i have picture but no sound. I've spoken to Asus about this and i was told to do a factory reset on the computer and start over, so i did this but the exact same problem has come back.

I have another smaller tv in the house which i've connected to via HDMI which works automaticlly. When i connect the sound and picture goes over to the tv, and when i disconnect the sound and picture goes over to the computer.

I'm using different HDMI cables for the two tv's. Could that be a problem?

    I assume you have Win7.
    Maybe you can try this.
1- Connect your TV using HDMI cable.
2- Right click on the speaker icon in the system tray -> Open Playback devices
3- Under Playback tab right click nVidia HDMI Output and choose Set as Defualt Device.
4- Now the sound should be routed to the HDMI output.

This usually should work. I connect my notebook to my TV many times and use the Extended Desktop mode in order to play movies on the TV.
