Just dropped my netbook. I was close to the floor when it slipped out of my hands. Now the black part at the back of it has popped out on one side. (originally the both sides were disengaged, but I was able to push one back in.) Now of course it won't turn on.

Before I call Asus, I thought I'd check with the board. Any suggestions about how to click that piece back in? If I can't do anything with it, I assume I have to send it back to Asus for repair. But any suggestions as to handle it when/if I call them?

    Thanks.

Bought it about four months ago at Best Buy.

    Sorry for typo: meant PEB

Do you have some sort of Accidental Damage Warranty?
I am not sure if ASUS offers this for netbooks.

If you want it be repaired ask ASUS first how much it will cost.
The repair could be as expensive as the netbook itself.

No, no accidental warranty. :( I'm wondering if I call tech support, if they can help me re-set that back piece. But you're right. Repairs could be more than the netbook. Glad it's not my only lappy. But still....

Maybe also look around if you find some disassembly manual.
These are sometimes floating around in this forum.
