Hello, I'm considering buying an Asus G1s, but on ASUS's main website, I click where the ASUS G1s link, it shows me how great it is, and it is, but there is no link of where to buy? Am I blind or something, cause I want to buy it from ASUS's main website, not any other websites.

You pretty much have to buy Asus from resellers, and the ones listed on website should all be legit, most people on this website who own asus bought from resellers of some sort...
-
Check the ASUS FAQ in the sticky for a list of resellers.
-
Asus doesn't sell laptops directly except in bulk. There are several reliable resellers, depending on where you live. one example is newegg.com, or I have heard Gen Tech PC is also reliable (I have never bought from them though) for US customers.

Ugh, this sucks! Why do they have to do that? It's pretty annoying...Anyone here have any good ideas of a SAFE, RELIABLE, and a good website that is helpful as well with an excellent warranty.
By the way, can the asus g1s be customized in anyway, if so, where, and how? -
The warranty is through Asus with all their ensemble models (the G1S is one). Ken from Gentech seems to have the trust of nearly everyone in here, and from what I've seen of Justin at Xoticpc.com, I wouldnt hesitate ordering from them either.
The other plus with these two, you can configure the notebook a little (like a 7200rpm HD) where as with newegg you cant. From what I've seen, Xotic and Gentech are less than NewEgg by a bit also.
G1S on Xotic
G1S on Gentech
Edit - It looks like you can configure the memory, hard drive, cpu and add arctic silver from what I can see -
btotech and milestonepc both offfer full customization, but you get your warranty through the reseller.

Ok, thanks a lot, I'll see what happens.

PROPortable was one of the first and best Asus resellers in the US. They don't offer customization, as far as I know, but the G1 is pretty well specced as is, so its not that big of a deal.
-
i would recomend Gentech
-
i would recommend gentechpc as well.
There is one way to order it from Asus directly. Call em and say you want 10 G1Ss they will ship em happily the same day. -

I'll use gentech. Thanks a lot guys!
By the way, how long does shipping take? -
Most have gotten there in 5 to 6 days. Now your location is Next to your neighbor so i have no clue how long will it take to get to you since you wont disclose your location lol

I live in the USA, so ok, you're saying it takes about less than a week, right?

They process on weekdays, so within 2 business days it should ship, then it takes 3-5 days of standard ground mail. This time can be increased/reduced by changing the shipping options.

Asus will not poop on you with a 10 foot stick for 10 at a time they will not even spit on you for 100 at a time. We have to order 50 at a time just to get something different and we have like almost all of their resellers have to go through distribution. asus only deals with distribution and a few select resellers that were grandfathered into their system when they did sell direct many years ago.

So they won't spit on us for 100 units, but they will sell 50 to you through distro? I don't get it.

they dont take direct orders at all. dont matter the quantity. I do belive they take govt orders directly though not to sure. for resellers unless you have a distribution center (have yet to see a reseller xept newegg open one up) forget it. besides all that. there is no advantage to buying from them over distro. they can charge you more then distro and you will never know it
HELP! Where the heck do I buy this?
