Hi and thanks... here is my dilemma .

I just sent in my G50VT-X5 and received it back from Asus warranty repair, and STILL have the same issue !!

If I charge the laptop fully until the charge light goes out, UNPLUG the laptop and let it sit OFF for 4-5 days, and go to use it WITHOUT AC power, ( just battery ), when I turn it on it is already down to 10-15 % remaining battery EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN OFF AND NOT USED FOR 3-5 DAYS !! Asus said it was a bad battery but it is doing the IDENTICAL thing still . Any suggestions ?? I can see the battery draining from a 100 % FULL charge if it sat for a couple months unused, but not a COUPLE DAYS !! Asus tech support told me that I should never use the laptop unless it is plugged in to AC ??? !!

Thanks for any ideas gang !

“Asus tech support told me that I should never use the laptop unless it is plugged in to AC ??? !!”

This makes no sense given the fact that G50 is a laptop that is made for potability.

I doubt it's the battery. Try removing the battery from the laptop during the 3-5 day wait. Then put it back. If it's still not working ID say the batterY is at fault.

Take the battery out, the expressgate led might be using a bit of power each day.

This is the correct answer. The ExpressGate light/button is always on, and will not shut off. Drains battery bit by bit every day. As far as I know there's no software fix for it.

yep pretty much the express gate led mine does the same thing if i leave it in my bag off for couple days gets down around 40 to 30% in like 2 or 3days

so there's nothing wrong with your laptop.

if you gonna leave it sit for that long i would just take out the battery if you don't want it to drain.
