    Hi,

I bought an asus w3J from milestonepc in 2006. I recently dropped it, which chipped my case and messed up the video card (I think it's loose). I have a 3 year warranty with milestonepc, but they seem to have disappeared. Does anyone know what I should do?

Is there any way I can get my warranty enforced? Or my computer fixed?

Assuming I'm SOL with regards to milestonepc, can someone tell me how to open up my case, so I can re-seat the video card? I unscrew everything I can, but I can't seem to get it all apart.

    Thanks!

I think something may be more or less broken rather than loose; most laptops are completely integrated unlike their desktop counterparts.

We do replacement for all out of warranty service work. Milestone went out of business. Kind of bothers me a little as half this forum swore by them when I and Ken were around for many more years. You can not get it enforced as physical damage is not covered. We charge the following
    1. panel replacement is 120$ each (lcd cover, top cover, bottom)
    2. mainboard replacement is 400$ on this one
    3. VGA card replacement is 250$ on w3j
    4. inspection is 60$ (includes shipping back)
Price do change. You can also contact auss directly see what they say. Technically they should hold some responsibility as they still advertise milestone as a dealer on their outdated where to buy page. you can also visist the asus estore for the parts you need and try it your self

My friend is in the same situation with is Z63a. How can a company with good reputation and price like they had takes the plunge so quickly, with so many customers ? This is beyond me and now my friend is left with no warranty. I guess it's how business works.

@Geared2Play : do you take repairs from Canada, my friend is in Montreal, Quebec, I see you are located in New-York state and you score real good on reseller's ratings ...

doesnt matter where the repair is from. canada shipping costs via ground are actually the same as shipping from east coast to west coast in the states. candians are welcome and actually dont pay much more then us customers.
Milestone never really did any kind of repair warranty work. That is what people didnt see. they sold product and had ok prices. their business was not comprised of selling service, warranty, out of warranty repair like ours is. Most of our smaller competitors that specialized in asus closed down. only ones left is me, Ken from gentech, Portableone, and a few more. Alot of the guys that frequented this forum and notebookforums are long gone. so is their warranty. the sad reality is we get alot of $$ from customers who purchased from another vendor to fix their notebooks. Been here for i think going on 4 years now (on this forum). Will be here for atleast a few more.

Hey Geared2play is there any way to replace the case itself? The lower right corner is chipped off. The LCD, however, seems fine.
