Is it normal that the hard drive indicator (blue logo) on my G50 is always blinking (at least once every 2 seconds but usually more) ? I have the 3 months free Norton Anti Virus. Is that what's causing it??

Unless Norton is running an idle time scan (it'll tell you if it is), then no, it shouldn't be constantly using the hard drive. You likely have a lot of background applications that are accessing the hard drive, which is seemingly showing frequent hard drive activity. I wouldn't be too worried about it, unless you experience slow performance.

Would the constant spinning of the hard drive wear it out really fast?
