I've settled on a W3V for my new laptop. :asus: The problem is that I'm having trouble deciding if the 4200 RPM drive will be fast enough. I get ultra annoyed with long load and boot times.

I have been to most dealers sites, but am not finding what I'm looking for. I like the $1699 price for the unit, maybe a bit more, but I don't want to push 2000 for the extra drive.

I guess I'm just wondering if there are any dealers that would swap one out on request...and what it would cost? Maybe some of the reps can help out, or someone who's bought that great machine.

I like the idea of having the operating system loaded when the computer comes to me. That way I don't have to mess with any of that and can get straight to work on migration.

I see that agearnotebooks will do it, but don't know about the price...almost 1900.

Does the machine suffer from longer load times/boot times with the slower drive?

ALSO...I tried using the search function several times, and it is HORRIBLE. All of the words I was interested in searching for yielded too many responses. Then, when I used the advanced method, I still didn't get anywhere. Is it impossible to find a model name or component through that search? What am I doing wrong?

I know there are some posts here about dealers who will customize W3vs if you look around.

My advice is to do it yourself, that is get the cheaper drive, if its too slow pick up a faster one, and and external casing for the older drive. That way you can have a nice little back up drive just incase hell freezes. If will also be alot cheaper.
