    Has anybody accidentally broken their laptop and gotten ASUS to replace it with a better spec'd one?

    as anybody accidentally broken their laptop and gotten ASUS to replace it with a better spec'd one?

    Does ASUS do that if they don't have the parts? (if the parts are old)

    Knowing how the greed of most companies work, I wouldn't even try it.

    Mainly because if they can't replace it with one of equal value, they will likely give you one of lesser value and tell you that they are sorry and send you on your way, leaving your screwed.

    No hate towards ASUS or anything, But it seems extremely unlikely they'd ever do anything like that...

    I have no experience with this, but I think they don't work that way. They'll probably give you a identical machine.

    You're asking similar questions in multiple threads that you've started - perhaps you could consolidate them a bit to get better inclusive responses :).

    Asus maintains parts for all current models for their tech support - it is highly unlikely that they would be unable to repair a damaged machine unless the model has gone out of production, hence when the new model replacement comes in. However, given that they release periodic updates (usually once or twice a year depending on tech cycles) it is possble that a "replacement" would end up being a better spec'd machine because an original replacement model is not currently being produced (think G1S-A1 to -B1 as an example). There have been examples of forum members who have had problem machines swapped out for a different model by Asus, so you can probably take the terms of the ADP contract at face value (as noted in your other threads on this topic).

    It was was like trying to convince someone to let you cut their arm off for me to get my notebook replaced with a different model under a well documented (yet still denied) battery issue. If you break it you should be able to get it fixed fine, but until you can prove with more than an absolute certainty that there is a design flaw that can't be fixed with replacement parts, you won't get a new computer.

    I did manage to convince them to replace my ASUS V6J after the 3rd failed repair, but they could not obtain a suitable replacement. I was offered V1J and A8J as options, both unsuitable for different reasons. W3J, which I wanted, could not be found. So I ended up keeping my V6.
