    Has anyone ever upgraded a screen?

    I was just wondering if this is a good idea. For instance could you take a WXGA+ screen from a F8Va-B1 and install it in a N80VN-GP011C to get the higher resolution?

    it can work and sometimes does. the problem is the data cable may not support higher res. it is a hit or miss. on the f8 series i believe they used a cable that supported 1440x900 or lower. in this case it would work but in others it may not always.

    Is there anyway to find out what kind for data cable the laptop contains?

    The N80VN has a LED screen the F8 doesn't is will that cause problems?
