Has anyone swapped out their CPU on their G72GX-RBBX05?

EDIT: Just realized I posted this in the Owner/Review section. Mods, please move it to the main Asus forum. Sorry about this.

The reason that I ask is because I tried putting my tried and true T9800 in two different G72's and when I did, I would get extremely wierd behavior. Windows lockups, errors, crashes, etc.... When I would boot into Memtest, I would eventually get errors all over the place. If I put the stock CPU back into both machines, everything was fine.

The T9800 is actually not defective. I've got it in my G60 and it shows none of the characteristics or problems that would show up when placed in the G72. No errors at all, Memtest shows clean. I've actually had it in a few machines over the course of the past year and it's been good everytime.

Just curious if any of you have ran into similar issues? I'm thinking the G72 just likes the P8700 and nothing else.
