I ordered a 1001PXB Eee PC and should have it in a couple days. I'm just wondering if anyone who has one has experienced a problem I've encountered on several laptops, that bothers me a great deal. Basically I've found that synaptics touchpad drivers tend to interfere with keyboard input, resulting in unregistered keystrokes. Uninstalling the drivers fixes the problem, but then you're left unable to alter touchpad settings. I've noticed this on an alienware m15x (which I returned), my current Sager (which Sager released a BIOS upgrade to fix), and on a friend's Dell.

Has anyone encountered this problem on an Eee PC, and, if so, is there a known fix for it? (I don't even know if they come with synaptics drivers; I ordered mine from target with windows xp preinstalled, so I'm not really sure.)

Thanks in advance for the info.

You could just update to the latest Synaptics drivers directly from their website.

You can post your inquiry to dedicated Eee forum (forum.eeeuser.com) for a more broad owner response.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. (From what I remember, even the latest synaptics drivers caused the problem, but this was years ago, so it's possible they've fixed it since then.)
