I've been reading these posts for some time now and with the help of this forum i bought my M6BNe last week, thanks for the valuable info! [ :D]

my brief impression of the notebook is good, i think it exudes high quality and it contains all the things i was looking for in a notebook (good vid card, crisp bright widescreen, decent keyboard, not heavy, nice design and great value)

With all the good, i do have some bad...[ :(]

    1. I've already experienced a screen malfunction, it happened when i turned on my laptop. The screen immediatly distorted, it looked like a paint brush, with different colour brissells, was painted horizontally across the entire screen (thats the best i think i can describe what it looked like) i could still hear the windows welcoming tone but couldn't see beyond the rainbow distored screen, eventually, after pressing control/alt/del several times, i had to resort to manually restarting the notebook by using a pin. Needless to say, this freaked me out !! before the screen problem, i was playing counter-strike for at least an hour and a half, i don't know if that contributed to it. should i be extremely worried ?!!?!? it hasn't happened to me since, but i've only had this laptop for a week, should i be taking it back to the resseller?? any input would be extremely helpfull !

    2. I noticed the cpu was running at 600mhz max, i did read that
this was common among M6BNE owners, and downloading the updated bios (M6N0203Ae.zip ) would fix this problem. Installed winflash, updated the bios and the cpu was running at 1.7 Ghz, so all was fine...BUT, i noticed that the cpu will revert to 600 MHz from time to time, usually after restarting or booting up after shutting down, and i'll have to flash the updated bios again to get it back to 1.7Ghz, is this common?? do you have to update the bios frequently to maintain 1.7Ghz ?!?!? seems odd to me, im curious if anyone else has the same problem?

So, as it stands now, im not as worried about the cpu problem as i am about the screen problem. Im seriously considering taking the notebook in to get it checked. Any suggestions or ideas about these issues and how to solve them would be appreciated, much thanks

    [ :)]

1.Screen problem is probably a video drivergame crash. (I dont think u have to worrie ab it).
2.Cmn. it is Centrino processor! It adjusts speed depending on batteryac mode and load of system. I even got 138 MHZ ... It consumes less energy in this modes. So dont worrie and stop flashing poor bios :) Just connect AC and load your sysytem with something and it will go to 1.7GHZ.
\You can change processor speed in Power4Gear utility. You can even change default values pre-defined there.

So, enjoy your new system. It is really kewl![ ;)]

On the front left side, place ya hand underneath and ya should feel a switch, give it a pull and this should power up the CD drive, ya can then use the play buttons(also on the left side) and listen to your fav cd.
