I m having some trouble with my Asus EEE 1215N. I cant seem to be able to decrease my screen brightness. when i press Fn+F5 it shows that, brightness decreased from 100% to 90%. After that it doesnt decrease anymore. I m assuming it is because of some software related problem. Because I was having trouble with USB earlier, i uninstalled some soft that the shop installed, and it started workingSo i think may be screen brightness problem may be caused by some program too. So i m thinking about reinstalling OS. But if there is any alternate solution than wiping entire OS and then reinstalling from scratch i would rather take that solution.
So here are the things i need to know:
1. How do i decrease my screen brightness? ( Fn+F5 not working )
2. If i want to reinstall Win 7 Ultimate/Home premium, How do i do it? ( since DVD-ROM is USB connected, the USB drivers would probably get deleted when I format current OS. ) [Currently i have win & professional 32-bit]
3. I installed Nvidia driver 270.61 which i downloaded from there website, but Nvidia control panel isn't working. It says I dont have Nvidia GPU connected =_="
P.S. sorry for writing too much.

I've reinstalled W7 ultimate on my Eee 10" netbook by USB, here are the instructions I used the first time:
Use a USB Key to Install Windows 7?Even on a Netbook

I recently just used it to make a multi-os bootable USB drive, with windows 7, a couple linux distros, and some other bootable diagnostic tools.
As for the brightness thing, I don't know, I've never had that problem on mine before. -
Thanks for the link. I m gonna try to make a USB installer n try to install 64-bit windows 7 ultimate. May be the problems will be solved. Updating result later.

Cant find if it can support 64-bit or not... the steps mentioned arent bringing the destination it supposeto bring. anyway, even if i make a USB installer, when i will format the C drive wont it also delete USB driver, rendering USB devices unrecognizable?
If there is a way to keep the USB ports working even after format then I can use my USB DVD-ROM to install windows 7. -

damn it.. still not working... xD
USB DVD-ROM can read the DVD i bought from shop.. where as it is running good on any other DVD-ROM. Tried the USB Flash drive method.. but for some reason it is not booting from there xD -
You need to install the KB Filter Utility. It is under Windows 7 (not 64-bit) Under the utilities section. Don't worry about it not being 64-bit. It will yell at you and not let you install if you use the AsusSetup.exe, use the HotkeySevice_1.23.exe installer inside the HotkeyService folder.
