I was trying to test out Counter Strike Source on my new Asus W3J, however, I've been having sound problems. I can hear, but when reloading and sometimes shooting, I hear a static noise. It messes up the whole experience of playing. Anyone know of this issue? How can I fix it? The game has only updated to 23% so far, so could that be why? I have music on the laptop and that sounds fine. Its only in CS:S that this happens. It has happened both through the speakers and through the headphones. Any ideas? Thanks.

Wait for it to fully update. And also try updating sound drivers.
I've only played the BF2 demo so far, and it worked fine there. I'll be loading Steam this weekend, and I'll get back to you if it happens to me also. -
thanks for the feedback. anyone else have any thoughts about this?

Hmmm I've not ran into this problem. Let us know if anything changes after you finish updating. Does the static only come out when your computer is making a sound?

i've played source plenty and i get no static....should probably go away when the updates are done.

It only takes a couple hours to reinstall... Blow it out of steam and try again. If that doesnt fix it you know it's not the game and can look elsewhere.
