I bought my f3sv a couple days ago and i've been playing WoW for 3-4 hours without turning off my computer. Is it normal for the palm area to get hot along with my adapter? this is my first laptop so i don't know if these things are normal. my sister has a toshiba laptop and her adapter is never hot. also, is it a problem to be playing for hours straight without shutting it down to let it cool?
thanks in advance.

id say invest in a cooling pad if its uncomfortable

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
The HDD is under the palmrest, separated by 1/8" space or less - the heat from the drive during prolonged use will seep up into the palm area. Same thing happens if you run virus scan or other HDD-intensive operation.
AC adapters will always get warm, how much depends on the wattage being drawn by the system. 4 hours of WoW will pull quite a bit, as the adapter is working to keep up with the load being drawn by the cpu and gpu. Your sister is probably a lighter/shorter user than you are.
Both of the above events are normal; you don't need to turn it off to let it cool down during an extended session. You should, however, be sure to use it on a hard, flat surface for that activity. Cooling pad will help with the chassis' temps somewhat, but no more than a few degrees and perhaps not enough that you'd be able to easily tell the difference by touch. -
