alright well, about 3 weeks ago i wanted to backup some data on my asus c90s...so i plugged it into my desktop via ethernet cable, as soon as i did that...my task bar dissapeared and my c90s froze...i tried to turn it back on but all i got was a black screen...

so i figured maybe my 8600m finally gave out so i ordered a HD 3650

it came today...i put it in...still got a black screen, so i unplugged the bios battery and put it back in... i got visual and it booted up fine, went to windows and everything

..i shut it off, put the heatsink on and tried it again...BLACK SCREEN!!

i can get to windows even with the black screen, (hear the windows login sound, can even swipe finger and login) so this tells me its not CPU/HD/MOBO

    please help

oh yea i tried to buy one locally but it turned out to be a bad card...it would start up every time no problems then as soon as it got to the starting windows screen it would freeze , the colors would start changing or go to all white with lines on the screen...so i just ordered one...this one started all up all the way..once

Any chance your bios is not compatible and needs to be updated? I would say it should be a problem with the gpu. I had a similar problem on my desktop when one of my crossfire cards died. Try running with just one strip of ram first. I don't know but rams had always given me issues as well. Run the bare minimum to see if it works first then slowly add things in one at a time.

In the thread where the guy had his gpu killed by a bad flash, i remember reading something about using a .bat file. So like u boot into dos, and it just auto executes the flash. So everything is pre written on a working computer. Then put into the blind one to run. And since u can boot into windows, u definitely can boot into dos to make this work. So its worth a try, provided u have the correct bios.
