So I changed my UX32VD's HHD with a Samsung 830 yesterday, and did a clean install of win 8 with all the drivers, and everything worked great.

Now my laptop won't start to Windows. All the boot options under the Boot tap are gone, even if I disable the Secure Boot Control, or set the BIOS to default, they won't come back. Now when I start my laptop it went directly to the BIOS page... What would I do?

I need my laptop for work tonight, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    Update:

Hey guys, it is actually a failure of my hard disk, which I have no idea how to deal with... Can anyone help me? http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/699364-crashed-ssd-after-win-8-updates.html

    Update to the problem:

When I go to SATA settings in BIOS, the Samsung 830 and iSSD are both there, does anyone have a solution yet? Thanks!!!

So I posted about laptop starts directly into BIOS with no boot options, and nobody seems to have an answer for that ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/699348-help-no-boot-option-cant-start.html)...

It seems that the new Samsung 830 I got crashed after a windows 8 update. The laptop restarted after the update then never came back to windows.

I changed the hard disk back to the old HHD and everything works fine.

I got this Samsung 830 yesterday and today it failed. Is there anyway I can repair it? I don't want to loss any data...

If you have an external enclosure, or a desktop pc you can try and see if you can recover the data. This is only possible if the drive is detectable and you can actually read anything from it. You can put the ssd into an enclosure and hook it up through USB to see if you can get anything off of it, or you can connect it to a desktop using the standard sata connectors from the motherboard and PSU.

Alternatively to the enclosure suggestion; if the disk is accessible, you can try using a Linux live CD to boot from, or Mini Windows XP. That will give you an interface in which you can retrieve the data (again, if it's accessible).

As for repairing the SSD, well... physically, you can't really repair it. If you're certain it's malfunctioning on a hardware level, then the best practice is to do an even exchange, or return it for a refund and purchase a new one.

    Warranty information: Samsung

You didn't accidentally, physically damage it, did you?

Thank you for the help! I hooked it up with a sata cable today and the ssd works fine, Windows 8 system files got crashed after updates for no reasons... I'm trying to repair the system file without having to format the ssd and reinstall the system all over again, any ideas?

Thanks! I hooked it up with a desktop, the ssd is fine, but windows 8 system file crashed after the updates. Is there anyway to repair the system in the ssd without formatting and reinstalling everything?

UX32 doesnt have an internal disk reader and i dont have an external one so I cant try a win 8 disc for repairs. The wired thing I found is, even if I plug in a bootable win 8 flash drive in (the one I used to install system), the laptop will jump into BIOS page directly, without skipping the SSD and trying the flash drive, could this be a problem?
