you can upload the minidump file (C:\Windows\Minidump), I'm going to analyse it if you want.

what do you mean by the minidump file?
    my windows wont even start
it just gets stuck at the loading screen for a long time then goes to the blue screen

Well if you have no important data that you want to recover on the system (windows, first) partition then just do a system recovery to the 1st partition only (F9 at the ASUS splash screen).

If you do have data to recover, first recover it.

Here is how to do that. Google for Knoppix, download the last distribution, burn the ISO image onto a CD, boot from it, and copy from /mnt/hda1 the data that is important to /mnt/hda2 (I think those are the names under which the partitions are mounted I don't remember exactly now) or to a flash stick or wherever.

Or easier if you don't know anything about Linux, buy a 2.5" USB enclosure if you don't have one, take out the HDD, put it in, plug the enclosure into a desktop and copy the data.

    Then recover Windows.

You can also use Knoppix to get the Minidump file and upload it for orbitalxp to analyze.

Yep, a fixboot might be in order, boot sector problems might cause your bluescreens.

    hi,

To make a chkdsk, you need to boot in MS-DOS mode, so the recovery CD isn't a good idea.

1/ Download the image of a win98 boot disk : http://jd.loret.free.fr/forums/BootableCD_MS-DOS_by_TknL.iso and burn it to a CD

2/ put it in your G1S, and boot on it

3/ when you are in MS-DOS mode, type "chkdsk /p /r"

4/ when scan is finished, type "fixboot", and confirm.

5/ when all is finished, reboot, and you're done.

if it doesn't work (because of the win98 boot disk), try to have a Vista installation DVD.

1/ boot from the Vista installation DVD

2/ don't select "install now", but select "repair your computer", and "command prompt"

3/ make a chkdsk like I explained before.
