I don't want to run Vista anymore on my Asus notebook which came with it.

So I purchased Windows XP 64 SP2 and it can't find any hard drive to install it on.

I thought SP2 had SATA drivers on it...

I don't have a floppy drive on my notebook either to install sata drivers, and I don't think windows xp sp2 will detect a usb memory stick with the drivers..

    Any help would be appreciated.

Just go into bios and disable the ahci support of your hard drive. This will allow XP to be installed on a SATA drive.

After the installation, you need to install the correct SATA drivers, and then go back into your BIOS and reverse the ahci setting.

Thanks! Windows Found the Drive now. It was called Windows XP compatibility mode. Pretty much the same thing I take :)
