I am planning to purchase either the Asus G1s or V1s next week and wanted to get some opinons on which one I should get. The V1s looks to be a little lighter and smaller. What are some of the other differences or pros and cons?

    Thanks

Would help if we knew more details, Personally I think the V1s looks alot better, But the G1S is more powerful in terms of gaming, So would you be moving it around alot and spending alot of time on battery? If so then go with the V1S. If you wont be moving it much and plan on gaming alot go with the G1s

Does the G1S also suffer from the V1S's apparent battery problem?

Personally I like the G1s better.

Here's some reviews for each system.

    V1s

    G1s

It looks like the two have fairly similar battery life with neither being spectacular in that department.

It all boils down to where and what you are using it for. If you want to game then the G1s is the best 15" out there right now. If you are in a business setting, however, the V1s is probably the best bet.

As far as I know the G1s doesn't suffer from the V1 battery wear. Don't quote me on that, though.

i think the V1s is a high end all round notebook while G1 is a powerhouse for gaming. I personally would have died for the V1s over the G1 just because its not flashy but it does the job right

It's really too bad Asus couldn't release a G1S with the GDDR Ram in a case similar to the V1S.

That would be the perfect machine.

Then no one would buy the G1s :p Asus isnt that stupid. It would have been nice though.

The V1S has alot of business and security features that the G1S does not which makes it better as a mobile PC IMO. And the V1S can be overclocked to match the G1S performance at stock, Of course you can overclock the G1S to,

If I overclock a V1S, would I invalidate any warranty by doing so? Or possibly hurt the machine in some way? I can see the machine running hotter, but what other concerns are there?

Where does the g1s get the gaming advantage over v1s? their specs are very similar, and correct me if i'm wrong that both have the same gpu specs: gf8600 gddr2? V1s has 512mb VRAM, while g1s has 256mb.

The G1S has GDDR3 Vram, The V1S has DDR2, in comparison GDDR3 is clocked at 700mhz, DDR2 is clocked at 400mhz which makes it alot faster. It should also run cooler despite its higher clocks.
