...an Acer laptot.![]()
While I know that I am in the ASUS forums, I believe we people of the NBR have a really really good nature, and that we are very very helpful to each other.![]()
I hope very very much that you'd help me with this thing.
As you see, I have an Acer laptop with a GeForce 9300M GS, and currently I have some problems OCing it. (See here, here and here.)
Now, if you want me to go into details I would, but first I would like to ask something. I read of a thread about someone able to overclock the card (specifically someone with an Asus N10J), and I would humbly like to ask if someone able to OC the card could be so kind as to give me a copy of their VGA BIOS? ++ rep and eternal gratitude would be given, pleaaase?
Or at least if not their own BIOS, if you guys know of a site or something where I could get a copy, can you tell me? Currently my vBIOS version is 62.98.25.00.A3.
I'm pretty sure right now that this is a vBIOS issue. I have a strong gut feeling that Acer disabled software level overclocking with their vBIOS, and I'm still finding modifying my BIOS myself (for a BIOS level OC) too time-consuming and risky.
I hope you guys would really help me. I've been puzzling over this issue for over a week already. T-T
Thanks a bunch in advance fellow NBRians.![]()

sorry i saw cpu not Gpu . forget above link -
Overclocking limitations is either driver or vBIOS restricted as you suggested.
I don't have the N10J vBIOS, but 169.04 and 185.20 drivers are known to allow overclocking, so I'd try these two drivers if you haven't already. -
169.04 on XP 32 (and maybe vista 32) only. not on xp/vista/7 x64 (at least not with my 9700M).
185.20 didnt work on xp 32. -

The official 179xx drivers from nvidia also support OCing.

Did you try asking for help in the acer section also? Somebody with an acer may have have had similar problems and therefore could point you in the right direction

try installing 169.04 with the inf from the next desktop line (172 or 173).
Help a fellow NBRian with a VGA BIOS and overclocking...
