Hello,
I have an Eee PC 1000H for about 2 ½ years, and during this time, I have often used the battery so that currently has a wear level of 48%. With this wear level, if I'm using wireless, I can not have autonomy for more than 1:30 hours, and I often need the battery for longer.
I am interested in buying a new battery but i dont know what characteristics should I consider when choosing a new battery.
I know some of my current battery information:
- Designed capacity: 55272 mWh
- Full charge capacity: 28846 mWh
- Rating: +7.3V - 6600mAh
- Part number: AL23-901
I have seen a few batteries on ebay:
AL23-901 6600mAh
AL24-1000 8800mAh
AL23-901 10400mAh
Will i have problems buying a battery that is not genuine?
Thanks!

In my experience buying generic batteries on ebay are hit or miss. and it really depends on the quality of the cells.
I once bought a battery which added 1-2 hours additional to the battery life at first, but mere months afterwards began to add only 30 minutes or so.
Since there's no way of guaranteeing the quality of generic batteries you should also be more aware if you're using them -- just in case
Since you've had your system for 2.5 years already buying a brand new Asus battery might not really be feasible -- then it might be a cost effective situation - but its really hit or miss w/ those generics -
I've found a few ones that says "genuine" or "original" battery... like this one:

A genuine ASUS battery will come with a little warranty card (more of a warranty paper that's folded over on itself like a small map) and the warranty will only be good if you purchased it from an authorized retailer/reseller.

My problem buying a genuine battery from an authorized retailer/reseller is that in my country, a genuine Asus battery costs almost 140$... I dont want to buy a battery that costs more than my notebook (at this moment).
As you said its better to not buy generic batteries, so its why i've been searching for genuine/original batteries on ebay...
