    speaking of..

The Asus 1015pn is very nice. It is a tough choice for a family member right now on what one to chose..

    The :
    Asus 1015pn
    ~or~
    Asus 1215n

Battery life ok I can understand the 1015pn would be more.. But how much more.

See here is the issue. When gettin the Asus 1015pn, I would have to pay the upgrade fee ( Starter --> Home premium 7 ) ... $53.00 amazon
    +
    59.99 for 2 gig ram DDR3 1333 1 dim.

    So

    Asus 1015pn: $429.99 netbook.. + $112.99 = $542.54
    ~ vs ~
    Asus 1215n: $484.03 - $489.00

    . .. 1015pn.~vs~..1215n
    ..10.1" . . . . . .vs . . . .12.1"
    1024X600. . . . vs . . . 1366x768
    N550 (1.5). . . .vs . . .D525 (1.8)
    1Gb ddr3 . . . . vs . . . 2Gb ddr3
    Starter 7 . . . . vs . . . . 7 H.P.
    HDMI . . . . . . .vs . . . . HDMI

In the long run, the 1215n would allow me to play 720p video, bigger screen, Windows 7 Home Premium ( no fee to upgrade from Starter ), 2 gig ram.

What about the processor? What one is better do you think ;)
Please give your thoughts :) I'm having a hard decision. The 1015pn is lighter , smaller, cool cause it's new.. but for the extra cash.. IMHO I think sticking with the, already out, 1215n would be good?

    Thanks for viewing :)

The 1215n will be more powerful (yes the processor is better) and it has a nicer screen and better gpu. However it's the choice between what is more important - portability or power (although to be fair both are easily portable).

The main factor for me was the screen resolution because the 1015n has a standard netbook screen which to me is stupid when equipping an HD capable gpu.

With the extra costs involved to bring the 1015n up to spec for you i would definately get the 1215n because in the end it will cost less and be more powerful and better to look at. Also the battery life is excellent. I've had 6+ hours out of mine when just web browsing or word processing.
