    Hello!
    Title says it all.
I need help finding something 15" -16" approx, an "i' processor ideally, decent battery life, 8 cell battery would be nice, light as possible so I can easily carry from work to home and back daily. Must handle abuse in form of being used 24/7
(some photoshop work, but mostly to run an oline shop)

Bell and Whisles that would be nice to have are backlit chicklet key board to type the 100 emails a day I must type. sometimes in the dark while my wife is asleep.

Does such a model exist? Anything close?

    thanks!

I would say the N61Q-A1 would be your best choice from Asus.

I think the OP wanted "light as possible" so the G73 is kind of.. uh, no.
But I second the N61 suggestion.

As I keep hunting for reviews I realize that asking for light as possible may be a mistake.

I am trying to find something like a macbook pro , powerful, light, durable construction and plenty battery life, but the CLOSEST to this ideal, the UL 50 series ( the 15.6" Ultra light series) I was originaly into are quite FLIMSY and not as fast as they look according to reviews. . They DO look great.

however, I will chalk to points for N61. thanks!

HP envy 15 is the closest you can get to Macbook Pro.
ASUS doesn't have similar spec as you describe. The most "light weight" and powerful option from ASUS, as for now, is ASUS G51Jx, which is a gaming notebook (means battery life and weight is really not gonna be the closest you want).

In the future, N63JN can be considered as the close one to macbook pro. If Screen resolution and graphic card are no important to you, UL series are the best ASUS can offer for now.

yes I was hoping to pick up a UL 50 - the 15.6' screen model - but read someplace that because they replaced the casing's aluminum with plastic, it's structural integrity is questionable.
keys CLACK quite a bit and it's somewhat warpable.

a solid keyboard is a must! with solid keys, for which I can handle the WARPABLE aspect of the model!
