i have been looking for a while but i can't seem to find one which lists x72 as compatible with it on amazon or ebay, now it is for my uncle and i need one long distance so i can't really take it apart and get the part number i need for it...

I haven't been into asus laptops for a while, so I have not the slightest clue in which parts can be interchanged to which series of laptops... I do seem to have found that X72S seems to be a french thing, which left me in awe as i got no bloody clue why assign different models on laptops which basically have a different keyboard fitted.

Anyways, it is a bit urgent, Amazon.co.uk: asus x72 keyboard

i don't see any of them listing x72 series as compatible, though they all seem to have pretty much identical connections to them both size and place wise.

The X and K and A models are usually on the same chassis for the same model number. So the X72 is essentially a K72 or A72. This may help widen your search. Here's an ebay search as an example:
    (a72, k72, x72) keyboard -skin -cover -protector | eBay

If it's for a french layout, add AZERTY to your keywords. You may want to also substitute clavier for keyboard.

well language isn't the issue, but knowing that X, K and A 72s have interchangeable parts helps a lot, theres plenty of keyboards with K72 as supported model ^_^ thanks. I'll report back when i find or fail to find one

alright so after some looking about i found these http://www.amazon.co.uk/NOTEBOOK-LA...LS4Y/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1362156169&sr=8-6 which is stated for K72, however on this website http://sparepartworld.com/product_i...sus-X72-Serie/cPath/49452/products_id/3193882 claiming to be for x72 seem to have the cable located in a different position. couldn't really find any for A72 series, but seems like they are slightly different after all...

    Thoughts?

That photo of the qwertz keyboard looks photoshopped, look closely; the cable is coming out above the bezel.
