I can explain more once i get to an actual computer but all i need is for soneone eith this laptop to go into dxdiag (get there by searching for dxdiag in the start menu) and telling me what video card (either the intel integrated card or nvidia 310m) under the display tab..
Someone with a k72 or k52 could probably do the same thing as long as it has an nvidia310m. Thanks a lot for the help.

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Asus has always used the -J designator to indicate a dedicated gpu, so the -jc is certain to be that.
The specific gpu in a specific Asus notebook model, however, can vary and depends on the full model identifier (i.e. K52JC-xx) and its release date.
Best thing to do if you're otherwise asking people for help here is to outline your full question in the first place -
Sorry, I was posting from my phone and didn't really want to type out the whole thing.
Basically my problem is that this program my moms employee is using crashes when do they certain things. When they phone the customer support for that programs company all they do is look into dxdiag and see the "intel integrated card" and say "Well, the minimum requirement is XXX video card (which the 310m surpasses)" so the problem is with your laptop.
According to asus, even though the nvidia chip is not shown under dxdiag, it will switch to it under high loads. My problem though is that the program is still crashing despite reformatting(or system restoring) like 5 times, changing drivers, changing bio settings and doing everything else I, or asus tech support could think of. Also, because asus or anywhere else I have looked does not actually have a program or anything that shows if the card is actually being switched to or not, I have no idea if its working properly.
While I suspect that the computer is working fine... I just wanted to know if owners of the same laptop are having their laptop use the intel as default (as shown under dxdiag). If it is, then I can say for almost certain that this laptop is working fine and its the program at fault (maybe not coded properly to switch to other available gpus). But if the nvidia card is shown then I know there is something wrong with this laptop.
So TLDR version: I'm just trying to troubleshoot something myself because I cannot really get a straight answer from either tech support company. It's always "oh it SHOULD be switching after you do that", but they don't have a method to test if for sure it did switch.
Help from someone with a K52JC
