Both are these notebooks are too good to resist.. I'm planning to buy one of them. I'm a occasional gamer but I like running HL2 and higher intensive games so both of them are good for me. 14 inches and 15.4 inches are both fine, even though I've never seen a 14 inch in person before. The thing is, what features seperates one from the other? I'm worried about the lowered resolution on the F3JP... 1200 x 800 doesn't sound too attractive for a 15.4 inch. Does it make it enough of a difference to go the A8JP? If it doesn't, I'm considering the F3JP because my funds won't allow me to quickly upgrade to 2 gigs and blow like $200. I'd prefer to just buy one stick if I could if the resolution isn't a problem. Are there any other differences? Which one do you prefer and why? Thanks for the help guys; this is going to be my first laptop.
P.S - edit - also, do both laptops have steady fan noise? Is it annoying? I'm not that sensitive but is it overly loud for a fan spinning at all times?

I'm on my F3JP from newegg right now (also my first notebook), and am loving it.
The gaming ability is great, and the fan isn't bad at all, even when you push the gaming (then again, if you have sound on it really won't make a difference). The screen resolution does well enough for me, letting me do my graphic work without a hitch. I don't see why resolution beyond native is a concern for gamers; unless for some reason gradients appear choppy (which isn't the case for me), the complaint is redundant. This is pretty much up to preference than performance, if you ask me.
Heat for the F3JP maxes out at 73C when I push it, and for safety I use RM clock to limit the cpu so that it stays at a moderate 65-70c. On normal use, it coasts at around 45-50c. You can use the power2go utility included in order to reduce fan noise (quiet office mode), which I expect to be on both notebooks.
Read the review by kelldore for the F3JP, and look at the A8JP user's lounge thread to see what you're going to deal with. Both notebooks have faults, so consider the ones that you're willing to handle. My only gripe for the F3JP was the bios/gritty screen issue that's been resolved by a simple update.
If you plan on carrying the notebook very frequently, get the A8JP out of size. The weight difference is negligible.
I got this model since the screen size is to my needs; working vector illustrations on a 14-incher is a pain, so it was generally my only choice for the budget.
Hope it helps.
Help me out - A8JP or F3JP?
