Here are the 3 problems that I need addressed:

    (1) Video: There is no operating system ( thus no drivers ). Under DOS in
the bios the screen is light green instead of black.

    (2) Temperature: Under DOS in the bios the idle temperature of the cpu is
73 degrees celcius. The idle temperature of the video
card is 70 degrees celcius. The system fan speed is 3410
RPM's. The fan and all vents have been completely
    cleaned of all dust.

    (3) I can not load an operating system: While trying to install Windows XP
Pro, the setup files will load for a little while and then
the system will freeze every time with the following
message: A problem has been detected and Windows
has been shut down to prevent damage to your
    computer. Then it goes
on to give the typical things to try and then gives the
    following technical information:

    Technical Information:

    *** STOP 0X0000007E (0XC0000005,0XF748E0BF,0XF78DA208,0XF78D9F08)

    *** pci.sys - Address F748E0BF base at F7487000, DateStamp 3b7d855c

I moved this to the main ASUS forum.

There is little point in wondering about GPU temperatures and OS freezes until you actually get a working GPU in the computer (see your other posts, which hint towards a faulty GPU).

Those temps in DOS are most likely due to (a) CPU not downclocking since there is no power management in place and (b) faulty GPU.

That was my other question. Is there any other way at all to replace or install another GPU/video card in the asus s96s other than replacing the entire motherboard ?

See answer on the S96S owner's lounge. I would advise you keep your information in one thread, that makes it much easier for us (and also for yourself) to keep track.

I am therefore closing this thread, so if you wish please repost the main post in the owner lounge where the rest of the discussion is. Then the people will help you there.
