    Hello there everyone,

My notebook, a U31JG-RX092V laptop I bought only 2 months ago, was sent in for repair on Monday, I have a couple of issues.

Firstly, if it were to be repaired, I know that the issue is with the motherboard, how long would the turnaround time be to replace, on average?

Secondly, I don't actually want this laptop to be repaired, it came with multiple issues that I was not pleased with, including a processor problem, an issue that caused the laptop to make high pitch noises, and I'm generally not impressed with the issue it faces in heat and the likes. The fact it just.. stopped turning on after 2 months isn't something I want to risk when going to university.

For this reason, I'd like to buy another laptop from them. Is there any chance they would refund me the laptop rather than repair? If so, where can I contact for this refund? I paid a lot of money for a laptop that works, and I do not want a £650 laptop to return to me only to break again, and leave me without a way to perform work for another set of weeks.

    Thanks a lot,
    Brittany

The repair time will depend a lot on the issue and the location that is repairing it. On average, I usually see a 5-9 business day turnaround for most.

As for the return, at a couple of months, unless the machine is beyond repair, most companies will not give a refund (most only have a 15 day return policy). Did you buy it from ASUS directly or through a reseller? I would contact whoever you purchased the machine from and start from there.

Thank you for your response, I'm going to start up a claim through the re-seller, considering that I'm not exactly willing to continue with a laptop I know is susceptible to overheating and, ultimately, kicked off on me in a measly 2 months.

It's now been 8 days and I'm yet to recieve a response. I'm not sure who to contact, but I'd like to contact them by e-mail, however all I can see is technical support of Asus.
