I am having difficulty with my bt-253 module of my laptop ever since i reinstalled win7 on it. Although the drivers install and everything the device do no start and in device manager i have a code 43 error for the device. I managed to find a compatible driver eventually but since then i upgraded to win8 and windows prevent me from even trying to install those (incompability error). I found the lasted broadcom driver 12.0.0.4900 that support my device but it again show up with the code 43 error. Does anyone has any ideas on how to fix this? The device work with win8 generic driver but my bluetooth mouse keep disconnecting every 10-15 min which it didnt do when the driver where working.

You can try installing the driver that worked for Windows 7 in compatibility mode. You'll need to uninstall the current driver first (Device Manager -> right click on device -> uninstall -> confirm). After you've removed the driver, perform the following to install it in compatibility mode:

    1. Right click on installer -> select properties.
    2. Click on "Compatibility" tab near the top of the properties window
    3. Check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows 7.
    4. Apply your settings, click "OK", and run the installer.

If that's a no go, then you can try a manual/custom install through Device Manager, but I have the feeling that if this does not resolve your issue, it may just be that there is no good driver for Windows 8 yet.
