I switched my 1GB ram card which came with my modified W3V from the back of the PC to the one behind the keyboard. Although it shows that I have a 1GB ram in the system, it doesn't appear as so. Booting up takes a **** long time, and everything is just slow. Do I have to do anything to activate the ram? I've already tightened the ram card into the slot.

I'm planning on putting another 1GB ram on the back. I've got an extra 1GB ram, but apparently it isn't compatible with the W3V. I would have ordered a 2GB one if I would have known that. So, what kind of memory is compatible with W3V? Thanks

Try removing that piece of ram and using the original module that came with the unit. If it works perfectly again, it's most likely that your upgrade module is not compatible with the laptop for some unknown reason. What brand, make, speed or specifications of the memory that you purchased?

Nevermind. I've just reinstalled it again after blowing the ports, and it works! Could have been dirty or something.

Great. Well, shows that you can never take too much extra care when dealing with hardware..
