    Hi.

Is the W3A730DL54HG and Z63A the same model but different names? Or are they with different speicifications? i've been googling but am a little confused now.

On w3a it says: upto 4 hours
    on z63a : 4+ hours

Why the difference? They look the same.. is z63a smaller??

which would you recommend ? which is the nwer version?

They're the same. Someone may have a different spec than another retailer. Some will have it at 1.29" thick and someone else may have it at 1.3". It's not a dumb question, the W3A is also known as the Z63A.

    Thanks guys..
that has made my life a little easier now that i know i am not looking at two different models, lol.

why can't they just stick to one model name?!
And why must they make it sound all so tecnical like "w3a" and "z63a"??

And it's not like they even go in chronological order... Ideally, it should be A is the oldest.. and Z the newest version...

    and it's like, what's up with z63a? Is there a z62a or z64a?

    grr...

Not exactly the same: The W3A has Asus on it and comes with the Asus warranty, the Z63A does not. However, the insides are the same and several people have flashed their Z63A with the W3A's BIOS.

Lets put it this way........ the W3a (which wouldn't be available in the US)...... would come in one configuration. The Z63a is custom...... so the battery life is going to fluctuate depending on configuration and use.... where on the complete system it's only going to change becasue of use...... so that's why there's a difference.
