    Cheap and simple and EFFECTIVE:

Use regular dhesive tape and press it on the screen. Lift off gently, and it will also lift the fingerprint/smudge like magic. Repeat if not completely successful the first time. I used the small clear type but probably any will do. Maybe don't try the too strong stuff. DON'T use duct tape.

No more wasting money on expensive cleaning cloths or solutions.

The TECHNIQUE: use a strip of regular tape about 2.5 inches in length and wrap it around your index and middle finger. Roll the tape over the smudge on the screen (don't need to press down hard) and it will lift off the smudge. Repeat as necessary.

NOTE: I used this on a glossy screen. Don't know about matted screens. I don't know how this will affect screens with antiglare coatings.

Be careful! You don't want to rip some of the tap and get it stuck to the screen. You would have a hard time removing it.

Why just wipe the screen with damp 100% cotton cloth and use dry cloth?

^ DONT DO THE TAPE METHOD
Jeez lol. I know ASUS are high quality, but i was laughing my butt off when i heard some guy has an Acer and he used tape and like 2 inches of the screen came off with it... I think cotton is much safer and works as well. Microfiber is also good.

I would never press something with glue on it against my LCD that's just plain crazy. Just get some good microfiber that will work perfect and it wont damage your screen.

I'm using special wet+soft tissues from EMTEC, it costs something like 3-4$ and there are 10 packages inside, I'm using it each 1-2 weeks so it's last for 3-4 months, I'm quite satisfied with it.

I thought that isopropyl alcohol was fine, but other types weren't.

Well, it's up to you guys to use this technique or not. But this worked very well for me. Regular scotch tape is not strong enough to rip off the screen. And you don't use a large piece of tape. Just a small piece, roll it around your index and middle fingers and roll the tape over the smudge and it will take it off.

There is no risk of scratching the screen at all. But when wiping with cloth, tiny specks dirt or sand can make tiny scratches on the screen. This doesn't use any chemicals which may affect the screen plastic) or require special cloth (that make cost a few bucks).

Some of you guys think that it will tear the screen off. Give me a break. It's not duct tape.

Regular tape is NOT going to rip the screen off. It's pretty weak tape. Just don't use duct tape.

doesn't that glue/sticky part of the tape leave glue marks on the screen afterwards?

Do not use any glues on your screen period. Or chemicals. use distilled water if possible and a microfiber cloth. The same you would use to clean high end camera lenses. Matte screen can be damaged so easily by any chemical they have an anti glare coating that can wear off. and glossy screen scratch easy. Do not use tape.

Is this true for glossy screen? They don't have a antiglare coating does it?

The glossy screen is actually some type of UV filter coating so im not sure how it works with them. The must have some type or filter for glare but may be built into the screen. i do know that any chemicals should not be used on either. I mean its better safe than sorry. and honestly nothing works better than water and a microfiber cloth.

You can also mix isopropyl alcohol with water half and half with the cloth. Nothing else though should touch the screen.

Yup, I used that all the time when I am cleaning my notebook, well except I used 100% cotton cloth.
