Hello, I'll try to explane my problem. I'm a dutch speaking man, so sorry for my English. My notebook Asus X51R is in hibernate. I've tried evrything to get him out of that position, but nothing works. I've did a hard reboot with power button (I've tried a hold for 1 - 2 - 3 seconds, untill a compleet reboot), I'v pushed the F5 and F8 button, in hope to get in the save mode... Nothing helps.
The screen is black, and in the front of the note book there is a little light (LED) with Zzz on it, just near te mousepad.

Can some one tell me what to do?

    THX

So when you push the power button do you see anything on the screen? for example do the POST messages appear there? Or is the screen completely black and non-responsive?

The only thing I can think of is to either reset the BIOS (if there's a BIOS reset hole) to clear the power state, and then hit F8 at startup to boot normally, or pulling the hard disk out and running a chkdsk on it, maybe delete hiberfil.sys to get rid of the hibernation file, forcing windows to boot normally?

Edit: There seems to be a hotfix for a related issue. Not sure if it's rolled into a later service pack, since it's a couple years old. Also does no good for the immediate problem since you can't boot. But it might be a clue. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953689

Same question as RamGen, do you get any image at all on the screen? If you get no image, then the problem is not with Windows hibernation, but something more essential -- most likely hardware.

See my Tips and Tricks for some details as well as troubleshooting steps that you can take (both if you have a black screen, or simply if your Windows install is messed up; in the second case I recommend following AllurGroceries' advice first).

Hi, to answer some of your questions :

The screen doesn't have any image or letters on it. It stays black. In the front panel the led "Zzzz" is stil lighted
I'll try what AllurGroceries gives as advice ans I'll be back :)

    THX anyway
