I've browsed through the Asus website, it's a little confusing when you don't know the brand ...

I'm looking to find out what high end ultra portable's they carry, 12 or 13" notebook, thin and light, powerful as possible hopefully with HDMI and SD card slot built in.

What models are their high end ultra portable's?

My alternative is the new Sony Z ... but I'd really rather not buy Sony.

Sony Z is a very unique laptop, i haven't seen anything that competes directly with it, Asus 13'' are not high end like Ul30, are more light ultraportables with huge battery life, but no choices for high end cpus, there is the U30JC but its not as light/thin but comes with dvd rom. Asus also had the F6V at 13'' but weights more and its not as thin nor it comes with hd screen. Maybe look into Acers 3820TX that might be released soon, might be able to get close to Vaio Z, without the high res screen.
