I have had my w3v for about 3 weeks and I am loving it. The only problem that I recently found is that my dvd drive will not come out of the bay. I have flipped my laptop over and pushed and pulled on the tab with the arrow on it but no luck. Does it usually take some force to get the drive out?

Hmmmm, seems like something could be jammed.

If you held the tab(make sure its the OD one, not the battery one :p I did that once heh) and firmly place your thumb on the engraved spot and pull, if it still doesn't, I'd either contact your reseller or give ASUS a ring.

... they're in there pretty tight.... you're going to have to fight it at first till you know the pressure you'll have to use to get it out.

Really? The Z63A I setup for my sister's friend had no problems getting the optical bay out. It just kinda came out with little strength.

I know it's kinda scary sometimes to use a lot of strength to get something out of a computer, but sometimes you just gotta do it.

    Give it a good yank.

Justin...if you use too much strength and kinda damage the machine is it covered under warranty, since the unit was kinda defective anyways?

    Cheers,
    Mike

My w3v's optical bay comes out easily.

Just hold the switch down then pull out the drive.
