I received a R.O.G. branded mouse with my G73JH-A1, seen below. Other than the ASUS and ROG logos, there's really not much to identify what model it is. It shows up under my devices and printers as "Asus Gaming Mouse (G112)". Doing a search on that didn't turn up much of anything useful.

The two side buttons default to Forward and Backward inside a browser window, which is kind of annoying because the bottom button is very easy to accidentally press. I can't figure out how to remap the buttons to something else.

Is there a driver or utility program I'm missing that could do this for me, or is there an option somewhere in Windows 7 that I'm missing? (I'm new to that, too!)

On a kind of unrelated note, I'm considering getting a bluetooth mouse to replace this one. Any suggestions?

If i am not mistaken, its a re-branded HP voodoo mouse. Don't know much about this mouse or its drivers. Maybe someone else can shed some light on that. But try to download the drivers for HP voodoo and see if that helps.
Sorry if this wasn't helpful at all..But do enjoy your new G73. :)

I think you nailed it, Kenny. I searched for that mouse and other than the color and logos, it looks exactly like mine. I'll try hunting down the software for it. Thanks!

    Glad I could help schneider21.. :)
BTW..if you would have searched the forums, you would have found that ASUS provides two types of mouse with the G73-> Razer Abyssus & HP voodoo.. Personally , I prefer the voodoo.. Bigger and right-handed compared to the Razer i must say( I have big hands :))
Hope the Voodoo drivers solve your problems..

After installing the HP drivers, I discovered that they do, in fact, NOT work with this mouse.

However, after doing the search, as you suggested, I discovered that this had already been realized by others, and that the solution was simpler than I had considered. The correct drivers are available on the ASUS support page. D'oh!

Lesson learned: The Search function is my friend!

    Thanks again, Ken!

I'm sorry for leading you on the wrong track. Wanted to point out to the Asus support page. But i honestly thought you must have tried that 1st.. :)

Yes, the search function is a great way of finding out stuff in here. Most folks wont appreciate the fact that someone will open a new thread for info which they could have easily found just by using the search function. But i'm glad you figured that out on your own.

    BTW..You are welcome dude.. :)
