Cnet says it's about 6 hours in their 'battery drain test' or whatever. However I was reading up on that a little bit and it seems they do all sorts of crap that a normal user wouldn't do, to get those tests.
So I'm wanting to know form an everyday user, how long their netbook battery-life really lasts.
Thanks.![]()

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
See the review by Jerry @ NBR Admin here for battery discussion. This was the 63WHr battery in the -PUX model, the VUX has a 48Whr 6 cell.
I'm waiting for my -VUX1 to show up later today. Based on Jerry's pretty practical testing (bottom of the linked page) and extending the time/WHr of the 63Whr to the 48Whr 6 cell, he should have gotten 6-7 hours pretty easily.
Edit: David beats me by 60 sec again -
Yeah, Best Buy has these online but not in my store, which drives me crazy because I could sell the hell out of them if they were in store. The Dell Minis are the same exact price, but have less than half the battery life and wireless G, with otherwise the same specs. The only Asus we have in store is the 299.99 one with about 4.5 hours of battery life...which is still good, but the whole idea of a netbook demands the battery life of something like the 1005HA.

For those reading the thread who are interested, the BB version (also now available on NewEgg [-EUX1], only in Black at $299) has the 3 cell battery which gives the 4.5 hours.... else is identical in every respect to the -VUX1 version at $329.

Ive got this netbook and can say from experience that im only getting 6 hours use on average.
Thats with a 6 cell 48Whr battery with power saving mode on, screen brightness at 20% wifi on and getting used constantly.
I use batterybar with it http://osirisdevelopment.com/and at these settings its using about 7000mah at idle compared to my DELL in sig that uses 57000Mah!!!! at idle
