How many of you out there were able to have your screen replaced due to the bad viewing angles and lack of a true black screen? If you were successful, could you relate how you went about convincing Asus to replace your screen? Thanks

You can have it replaced every week for two years if that's what it needs..... but realistically to run into one bad screen puts you in a group of less then 1% of owners of that computer...... and to run into two or more obviously just make you more.... well, lets say "special" ....

The screen is going to be replaced due to bad pixels --- dead, bright, whatever...... Viewing angles are going to be the same on all systems of the same model. While "true black" is a matter of color correction and brightness/contrast...... Those are all things that you can correct yourself in within the system to a point. Beyond that, that would be the limitation of the screen and again, the same on all systems of that model. You could send you screen to Asus with certain complaints, but if they test it and it's the same as the rest of their screens... they won't replace it because they can't.

.... If the same person then trys to send it in for the same reason, or they find nothing wrong with the screen after multiple times sent into RMA... they'll probably tell you in the nicest way --- don't send it in again unless there is a problem OR you start paying for shipping back to you and things like that.

What exactly do you think is "wrong" with your screen anyway? Maybe I can help -- either fix it or to put your mind at ease.... I know this system as well, if not better than anyone else.

It's true the contrast isn't up to par with say.. a Sony, but realize that every notebook has it's strengths and weaknesses.

Explain your problem in more detail.
