i have had my g1s for a few days now and i love it! it really is all i had hoped it would be. i simply discarded the idea of configuring the media buttons at the bottom of the notebook for winamp but i was wondering if anyone has done this? any help would be much appreciated.

Supposedly the newer Bios (203) should do the trick. If I understood it correctly, it enables control of Winamp. I even saw replies from users that reported a certain success... I, however, didn't notice any difference, even with the newest bios version (204)...Stuck with Media Player, I guess :( ...

Have you enabled Global Hotkeys in Winamp?

No, no, I meant to say that, although I flashed the newer bios version, I still cannot control winamp or any other media program with the Media Keys, and the minimal documentation that Asus provides with the bios updates isn't really helping. As far as the Hotkeys are concerned (the keys next to the power button), I can only change the default email & browser programs under Windows, and then I can control them, but nothing more... It's a pity there isn't any program for that sort of things. There was (and still is) a special prog for Logitech Keyboards, one could remap almost every button of the keyboard...

My, my, thank you very much! I can't say that I haven't searched the net for something like this, but this is the beauty of this forum ;) ... People say it works for the G1S, so thanks a million. I 'll give it a try right away.

Thats so wierd, I have no additional software (but am running the 203 bios) and can control my winamp with those media keys. To be honest I found it by accident and just pressed on while cleaning them and winamp was open and playing... then it went to the next song. :p

Can you control winamp under Vista or XP? And is it with the Asus Media Keys software installed or without?
