I own an ASUS G1 and it seems I'm only getting the option to burn a dvd 2X.

I doubt this is the maximum speed, but can someone shed light on what is the maximum speed for DVD and CD burning. And how do i increase it?

    Thanks

Well, first off: what program are you using to burn a the DVD? secondly, if you're using a program to burn actual DVDs (meaning the program is actually encoding the movie file to MPEG2) then i suggest you stick some kind of flash memory bigger than the file in your machine and let readyboost cache the whole file. I've noticed incredible speed increases when it comes to encoding files and burning stuff when it comes to readyboost. I have a 4gb card in my machine though.
