Whoa, HD 2600? The laptop I'm currently using has an ATI Radeon HD 3200 and it can't even run Hulu videos fullscreen. I don't think you have a machine that should be running Crysis.

If he says he doesn't know much about notebooks then he's more likely going to break the notebook while removing the GPU. Most of the people on this forum wouldn't be up to it, either.

Well he has to start somewhere. I suggest reading a few guides on how to take apart notebooks. Take it nice and slow, I don't see what could go wrong.

Get G73... u'll be able to play crysis on very high and not to mention u can play directx 11 games... won't have to invest in a new laptop for 3 years... unless directx 12 comes out lol...

Honestly? I don't mean to break your heart, but you would probably get about 500 for it. And that is a very liberal estimate.

Post a thread in the price check forum and people will chime in.

im not too good with motherboards, but if your motherboard does have another PCIE then buy another 2600 to crossfire them. Otherwise, do your best to sell the 2600 for as much as possible and buy yourself a 4770. and a PSU upgrade if needed.

keep the laptop as it is a good laptop for everyday use. Invest in a midgrade gaming desktop and you can play on high settings. Seriously..that makes the most sense. You can get a pre-built desktop for 600 bucks and you can keep your current laptop.
