How can i make Crysis run smoother on NVIDIA GeForce 9600M G?

    I have ASUS M50VM-A1, 4gb ram, 2.2ghz core 2 duo...

It runs fine now, but not perfectly smooth.

Is there any tweaks, etc, i can do to speed it up?

    Thanks.

hi awaisuk, what res and settings are you running at?

Can you post a screenshot of your setting screen?

Have you installed FRAPS to see what your FPS is when playing?

Leebaldock, I believe Crysis has a built in FPS counter, but I'm not positive...

The number on the top right said 5 when ran on maximum resolution 1440 and said 5 when i ran on 1024 resolution...

I am not sure what those numbers mean but help is appreciated.

The number represents the frames per second that Crysis (or any game) is running at.

Personally I don't like gaming at anything under 20 FPS (frames per second) as it's too "chunky" or "chuggy" or "laggy" to play. Like watching a slideshow!

It sounds like you are running on High or Very High if you are getting 5 on 1024x768.

You should be able to get good frame rates on 1024x768 with Medium settings on this laptop easily. It certainly has the CPU and GPU to do it.

Try setting your graphics to Medium across the board (all settings) and see how many FPS you get with that.

Ultimately you should be able to run with a mix of individual Low, Medium and High settings at 1280x720 with a pretty good "playable" framerate above 20 FPS.

Here is a review of your laptop

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=3625831

If you scroll down you will see some videos of settings the reviewer has used to play Crysis at. The videos can take a while to load but the first few seconds of each video shows the settings he used.

THis is the LOW video - by that I mean the reviewer set Shaders and Shadows to LOW with most other things on HIGH. He gets really playable framerates.

Let me know how you go.

Crysis... its one of the hardest games to play and honestly to be enjoyable it needs to be on high or very high.

Even my 9700gt can only really manage medium at 1280x800 all high is in the 20's.

Best thing you can do is try some custom configs, try Cubans Triple C pack and try the lowest setting possible and then try a 1280x800 res.

Also you can look for the Crysis benchmark tool and run that to test your settings.

Good stuff. Your welcome. What FPS are you getting now? Which resolution? And is everything else set to high?
