Hi, i just wonder how come my V6V is SINGLE CHANNEL memory when i go to bios's system info. it should be Dual Channel, right? someone can tell me what happened? thanks alot.

Do you have 2 identical memory sticks installed? If not, it will display "single channel". Once you have 2 sticks (enabling it to be in dual channel mode) it should display "dual channel", if the V6V has that capability.

If your v6v is 'stock' meaning its same same from the box, ASUS only installs ONE stick of ram so you can upgrade it yourself if needed.
Much better then giving two smaller sticks.
Remember, the dual channel doesn't wield much better results, only a small difference. -
thanks all, that is orginal one, i didn't change the ram, and it shows dual before, don't know why right now is single, any solution for that? please

It showed Dual before?
Hmmm...
I can't answer this, I don't know, hopefully someone does! -

Thats odd. You say it read dual channel and now it doesn't. Are you looking in the same place? Did you change the bios? Something must have changed, even if you're not thinking about it. Is all the ram still registering?
At a certain point (roughtly by the start of May), all V6's started shipping with 1 x 512mb. So if you bought this any time after that, you should have only 1 stick. But I guess you should know what you've got and you said it read dual channel before. -
thanks for all helps, I fix the problem when i update the bios once again, so i think is the problem during flashing the bios. but right now, all fixed, thanks all you guys.

as an aside kwok... how do you like the screen on the v6? have you seen one of asus' glare type screens? how do they compare? (it's a sweet lappie!)
How come my Asus V6V display only single channel in bios?!?!?!
