    Hello Everyone!

When I purchased the Asus K52Jr last year I set an Admin password via BIOS. When I tried to enter the same password months ago, the at sign "@" (which is part of my password), stopped registering for some unknown reason. It works in other applications, but not through BIOS. So basically I get the "password invalid" error.

Recently a friend of mine was able to get in the BIOS using a "backdoor BIOS
password", but somehow he set a USER password instead and now we can't make any other adjustments to the BIOS because of it. The USER Access Level is pretty much useless.

From here we tried the backdoor method, but like before certain characters no longer registered when ever I typed it. What is up with this BIOS Software?

I've tried to remove the cmos battery several times and at one point it did
reset, but it reverted back to the previous setup (BIOS software BUG?). So I'm back to square one and to my main question -> How do I completely reset the CMOS for my Asus K52Jr laptop?

    BIOS VENDOR: AMERICAN MEGATRENDS
    VERSION: K52Jr 214
    VBIOS VERSION: 012.020.000.050.0343.A31K
    EC VERSION: 202c1e0001
    INTEL CORE i3 CPU M350 @ 227GHz

    Appreciate your time and assistance,
    YTim

We do not allow discussions on how to bypass security measures for any reason(see forum rules). Contact the manufacturer for assistance. They may charge a nominal fee and require that you prove that you legally purchased the notebook.

    Thanks for your cooperation.
