It's a normal TV with component cable access...What do I need to buy in order to get this laptop to display on my TV as well as put sound out to my tv so my tv is the one outputing sound to the rest of the room. (W3J speakers are so low!~) I tried searching, but couldn't find anything about this. Nor can I find any addons that came with my W3J box to connect to my tv. (Other than a tiny 3 inch long s-video cable.)

If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yes, you first connect the S-Video connector to your laptop to your TV, that will get you your video, now you need audio.

You take the Heaphone jack (SPDIF), and then use a headphone out to RCA adapter and then you will be able to get your audio.

    Something like this:

Use vga cable instead of s-video. This laptop does not even take a standard svideo cable. It comes with a 7 pin adapter on one end that plugs into the laptop. You will need a yellow male to male rca single strand to complete the connection as becuase asus does not include the other end. you can use the pc audo jack for 2 channel and plug that into your tv as well. If you want quality video use the vga connect with a pc audio cable. Even the 3 ended cable may not work. I tested it with last years models and only the green had any output i belive this years models are the same with ati card. A simple way is use vga cable and a pc audio cable for sound. That is how i got it hooked up on my plasma.
