    Hello all,

Its been a while I needed to use my Compact Flash. So after playing around with my new toy (Canon 30D) camera, I wanted to review the pics on my notebook. I inserted the CF with its adapter, but nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?

You need the adapter since the CF is too small on to fit on the slot.

    thanks

What kind of adapter? Well is the only adapter I know, that one we use for the Compact Flash memory to insert into the notebooks. Funny thing my other notebooks it reads it fine.

On this Asus, it doesnt do anything. Like is not even feeling that something is being detected.

The W7J has an Express Card slot. The older standard is called PC Card. If you're trying to use a PC Card inside an Express Card slot it won't do anything.

Are you trying to use the card reader on the W7J to read the CF card? I don't think the CF format is supported by the reader.

The W7J reads SD, not CF.

I assume what you have is a PCMCIA -> CF reader. Since the W7J does not have a PCMCIA slot but rather has an ExpressCard slot, this device won't work with the W7J.

I don't know if there are any ExpressCard CF readers, but you can get a USB reader like this:
