I bought an asus g2-s at the PC fair yesterday. i suspected it was a used g2s model. but how can i verify these? there were programs that i have never installed, mp3 of sorts that are also installed.. so how do i check if its brand new/ or was it used?

    SIGH. i feel cheated already!

Well, the obvious thing to check is if the seal was broken, mainly the box. It should have a clear but ASUS branded tape that sealed the box.

    As well, what programs?

From what I'm hearing, those programs aren't suppose to be on the computer when it is just out of the box. I suspect someone had returned it. :(

Well, my husband bought a new sealed G2s from Gentech last week and it has logitech mouse stuff (because it comes with a logitech mouse) and Power For Phone, but I don't know of any motorola stuff. It did have the sample Vista sound and video files.

well ... if you really got a returned one ...
they would probably have re-installed everything already
at which case there will, i believe, no way of tracing / proving it was used
but you can always argue with them if they're still there !
