Hi. I'm also wondering how to put a recovery partition in the HD of my Asus. Thanks for the help guys.

Not sure what model you have but on my G50VT you do the following:
Restart your computer. Press F9 key immediately when the ASUS logo appears. It will start the recovery procedure, including the installation of all the drivers and utilities. Follow the instructions. Your computer will be restored to the factory settings.
Hope this helps -
On a related note, If I delete the partition can I recover it using the recovery disks?
-
Yes you can.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the English here, but just a clarification: If you delete the recovery partition, the DVD will not restore the recovery partition itself. The DVD only allows you to restore Windows, but not to the exact factory state (pretty close though) that is on the HDD recovery partition. The HDD is a bit faster, but the advantage of the DVD is that you can pick and choose which or none of the bloatware you want to install.
